NutritionThe Bison is Back! The purely natural bison that once roamed this land and provided such a perfect source of protein for the peoples of North America have returned. Its numbers have rebounded to 320,000 from near decimation earlier in the 20th century. The bison's strength and health, coupled with a superior immune system (the only known animal to have never developed a case of cancer) is the result of two factors: a nutrient rich diet of grass and a life on our ranch that is as stress free as possible. And when a bison is healthy those properties of health are passed on to whatever consumes it.
The result is a nutrient dense, low fat, low cholesterol meat that contains three to six times the amount of omega-3s as grain fed animals. Omega-3s are indispensably in maintaining a strong and healthy heart, playing a vital role in every cell and system in your body. In addition, grass fed bison contains the highest known levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) known to science. Research on CLA is showing evidence that CLA has the potential to reduce the risk of cancer, obesity, diabetes, and a number of immune disorders. By converting fat to muscle, CLA can act as a natural fat burner providing the body with both energy and the ability to boost the immune system.
In addition, grass fed bison contains four times the amount of vitamin E found in grain fed beef. It is also a rich source of the vitamin beta-carotene, a vital antioxidant which reduces the risk of cancer by preventing cell degeneration. Selenium Content of Grassfed bison
